Abstract

In the present investigation, Strobilanthes andamanensis leaf samples were collected from Andaman Nicobar Island. The leaf samples were powdered and workout in phytocompounds, in vitro antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity analyzed. Four different solvent extract (aqueous, chloroform, ethanol and hexane) were analyzed in phytocompounds, the ethanol extract found in Amino acids, Alkaloids, Coumarins, Flavonoids, Glycosides, Phenols, Saponins, Steroids, Tannins, Terpenoids & Triterpenoids and absence in Phlobatannins & Quinones than compared to other solvents. Quantitative phytocompounds recorded ranges in between 03.55±0.28 to 11.80±0.03 µg/ 100 mg in ethanol extract. In antioxidant activity, reducing power assay recorded in maximum percentage of activity in ethanol extract (25.96±0.12 %) in 300 µg/100 ml concentration followed by other solvents as well as DPPH assay. In vitro anti-inflammatory activity measured in regression coefficient value (R2) 0.9998 in standard, 0.3355 in aqueous and 0.1199 in ethanol leaf extract of S. andamanensis. The results were recorded in future work.
