Abstract

High sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) is an inflammatory cytokine known to be related to inflammation diseases and elevated immunoglobulin E (IgE) is considered as an objective marker of allergy and has been associated with a number of respiratory disorders. Recently, it has been hypothesized that there is a strong significant between systemic and allergic responses in adult asthma patients. To test the hypothesis, we compared fasting serum IgE and hs-CRP in middle-aged men with asthma and those with healthy subjects.
