Abstract

The selection of microhabitat by spider communities is influenced by various environmental factors as well as by the plant structure. The study was conducted in the vicinity of Katibawasan falls, Mambajao, Camiguin province. The study aims to determine the microhabitats of pholcid spiders. Using the cruising method combined with visual search, pholcid spiders were searched in their possible microhabitats. Four microhabitats were identified and ground fern showed the most number of species. The complementarity between microhabitats of pholcid species showed that 83% of paired microhabitats were 100% distinct. This indicates a significant non-overlapping of microhabitat choice among pholcid species collected in the vicinity of Katibawasan falls, Mambajao, Camiguin.
